Ongoing Teacher Training (OTTC)
The process of being a yoga teacher is one that requires
ongoing refinement of one's skills, knowledge, practice and repetoire.
Aadil offers several ways that teachers can keep their teaching and
practice alive. Student's of Aadil's have found the OTTC to be a
powerful tool for keeping their teaching skills invigorated and fresh.
For teachers and teachers in training who would like additional,
in-depth and regular training with Aadil, please consider the monthly
OTTC class. In this 2 ½ hour course, Aadil covers the
therapeutic
aspects of yoga, outlines specific yoga sequences for common ailments,
(i.e. lower back pain, disc herniation, migraine headaches, hearing
loss, hip replacements, etc.), discusses nutritional therapy using
Ayurveda, Sunrider and Western foods, and teaches how yogic philosophy,
anatomy, and meditation can inform and inspire your teaching and yoga
practice.
Each monthly class features a new topic, and is offered in a workshop
format. Participation includes
discussion, demonstrations, hands-on pracitce, homework, and myriad
opportunities to refine one's
knowledge and teachering skills. Teachers’ questions figure
prominently in the class. Deepen into the art of teaching!

Student Comment
"One Wednesday each month at Yoga Centers in Bellevue, Washington,
there
is a gathering of yoga teachers. This is an ongoing teacher training
offered to any teacher wanting to attend. It is mentored by Aadil
Palkhivala, one of the most amazing teachers I've witnessed. While
Aadil's lineage in yoga is impressive, it's obvious to those around him
that he's not just a fountain of wisdom but one of the most gentle
beings you'll ever meet.
"During these 3-hour sessions teachers respond to the previous months
written homework, ask question that may have come up in their own
classes, and work with each other on particular asanas and adjustments.
The format has recently been expanded such that teachers may bring a
student needing additional attention to class for all to see and work
with. I call it twenty years of yoga knowledge packed into three hours.
"I met Ken at the studio in Seattle where I teach. As always I inquired
of class about injuries they were harboring. Ken arrived late to class
and missed this entire ordeal.
"Now normally that might not be significant but as it turns out Ken has
a recent MRI revealing a bulging disc in the Lumbar Spine (instructors:
L5/S1, lay people: lower back). Ken is in a lot of pain. Some numbness
in the foot and pressure on the sciatic nerve. Not pleasant.
"Ken has been advised to have surgery. I made arrangements for him to
join us at OTTC this afternoon and we watched Aadil work with him for
the better part of an hour. I don't think you would find the details
interesting but suffice it to say the protocol was to eliminate pain,
lengthen the spine, and restore the lumbar and thoracic spinal
curvatures. I think this man's life was saved. Further proof that
transformation can occur for us any time we choose and in any fashion
we desire to shape it. "
Namaste,
